The record of congressional hearings in 2004 however makes it clear that Democrats Defended Fannie/Freddie from Regulation.  2004 video clips reveal that the Democrats are lying now and lied then covering up and killing legislation to protect Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac using them as their cash cows.

Yes, Mr. Obama knows a great deal about the mess.  He is a central figure in the exploitation of financial institutions and pressuring them to make high risk loans.  Obama is the second largest recipient of donations on the list at Fannie Mae.  Obama has questionable ties to Fannie Mae Executives led by Clinton's former budget director Franklin Raines, recipient of a $1Million Fannie Mae bonus and Obama's campaign advisor Jim Johnson.

Raines and Johnson took Clinton's risky gamble and then rolled the dice. The pair allegedly cooked the books at Fannie, issued countless dubious mortgages, and then took huge bonuses before leaving the company.

Democrats have long been knowledgeable and responsible as seen in an article of the September 30, 1999 edition of the New York Times:

"In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders."

"The action, which will begin as a pilot program involving 24 banks in 15 markets -- including the New York metropolitan region -- will encourage those banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans. Fannie Mae officials say they hope to make it a nationwide program by next spring. "

"Fannie Mae, the nation's biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits."

The high-risk subprime mortgage social engineering community service experiment by left-wing Democrats and Obama has created the largest financial crisis since The Great Depression.  The full reach of the corruption and scandal may never be known but those who created it must not be rewarded.  The architects, primarily left-wing Democrats, created laws, took donations, looked the other way and actively blocked Republican attempts to avoid the known problems.

Now these same Democrats want to do another high risk "community service," social engineering experiment. They want to elect a high-risk, low experience, socialist one of the same community organizers that created the mess to be our next president.  We cannot experiment with the office of president and learn as we go.
