Obamacare: This is what socialism looks like

The passage of the health care bill was a sad spectacle. Bart Stupak is the new Pro-Life Judas. Like a car wreck it was fascinating and repulsive at the same time. History may look back upon March 21, 2010 as the day America died.

The people came out in mass to protest, but like before they were ignored and dismissed. Oversized gavel in hand, Nancy Pelosi and her cronies flaunted their power in a let-them-eat-cake moment by walking amid the protester’s calls and jeers. Undoubtedly, she was hoping to draw more inappropriate heckles for You Tube to divert attention from the real atrocity inside.

Then there was Boehner’s passionate speech before the vote. It rang true with sadness and outrage at the realization that a once great nation has lost its way. He warned both Democrats and Republicans about going against the will of the people. It was a cautionary tale with a purpose.

And then there was Pelosi’s pre-vote sputtering speech. In a strange chuckle akin to watching children bake, her words were weak and arrogant at the same time as she drudged up yet more weepy vignettes. Thrashing her hands about like a conductor leading an orchestra of living dead Democrats, she smugly said that health care is a right. I don’t recall that in the constitution. Truly, she proved that all politics are loco and not local as Tip O’Neill once said.

In the guise of a historic accomplishment, the passage of the health care bill will perhaps more likely be remembered as a new day of infamy.

Shame on the Congress for its continued arrogance and its hell bent refusal to not listen to the American people. We have begun our long march to oblivion. Change is just another code word for socialism.
